Our Preschool warmly welcomes children aged 4-5 years (Reception 1) and
5-6 years (Reception 2).
Our department includes two well-equipped classrooms, a back garden, and a spacious playground, where children can play, discover, and develop their physical skills.
Each classroom is carefully organised to promote learning through play, exploration and discovery.
Our facilities include:
· Interactive Whiteboard – for engaging and dynamic lessons.
· Sensory Tray – for daily hands-on exploration and discovery.
· Quiet Area / Reading Corner – a calming space for reflection and relaxation.
· Role-play Area – to encourage imagination and social development.
· Construction Area – to enhance creativity, problem-solving, and fine motor skills.
Each area is thoughtfully designed to support the learning objectives outlined in our lesson plans.
Children are introduced to letter sounds in a structured sequence, learning to:
· Recognise letter names and sounds
· Blend sounds to read words
· Segment sounds to write words
Using an interactive online platform, children are assigned their first reading books to practice daily and build confidence in their reading skills.
Our programme encourages children to explore and understand the environment, people, and communities around them. Through hands-on activities, observation, and discussion, they learn about nature, animals, plants, weather, and the changing seasons. Children also develop an awareness of their community, cultures, and the importance of caring for the environment.
The programme nurtures curiosity, inquiry, and respect for the world, helping children build early scientific thinking and a sense of responsibility for their surroundings.
Learning takes place through interactive activities, creative projects, and educational school trips that connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.

We believe our Preschool is the foundation of our children’s learning journey. Here, we nurture strong roots that support their growth, confidence, and curiosity for years to come. We believe young children learn best through a thoughtful balance of structured teaching and purposeful play. Our approach combines classroom-based learning with play-based exploration, ensuring every child develops academically, socially, and emotionally.
Throughout the day, children engage in:
· Adult-led learning, such as circle time and focused group or individual table activities, where key skills in early literacy, numeracy, and communication are introduced and strengthened.
· Adult-initiated activities, including individual table tasks and carousel-style activities designed to guide learning while encouraging independence and teamwork.
· Child-initiated and child-led experiences, where children explore through free-flow play and carefully planned learning corners that spark curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.
By blending guided teaching with opportunities for independent exploration, we nurture confident, capable learners who feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and discover the world around them.
Our goal is not only to prepare children for the next stage of school, but to foster a lifelong love of learning.
